The Train Layouts At Luray Caverns – Bob’s Road Trip July 2016

When we visited Luray Caverns in July I was roaming the shops and buildings around the stop and stumbled upon this nice surprise.  Although it’s not the most realistic or meticulously maintained layout I’ve seen it had a lot of interesting things nonetheless.  My favorite feature was the O gauge section that featured nearly every classic O scale village building from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s.  We had a lot of those when I was a kid (they were actually my fathers.  I’m of the 70’s) There’s that element feel-good nostalgia to them.  I had fun pointing at each and telling my son “when I was a boy grandpa has that one, and that, oh and that one too except i sat on it,  I helped build that one, the light tower melted and caught on fire one day.  etc.”   I wasn’t prepared to video anything so it’s cheap cell phone video footage.  Enjoy!

A Trip To The Strasburg Railroad Museum – July 2016

Here’s a few pictures from my journey through Amish country. Stopped by the Strasburg railroad museum. Next year I’ll have to go in. Didn’t have time this year.
